Babies 2010 . African Grey Congos
Congos are medium-sized parrots with grey plumage and bright red tail feathers that are absolutely stunning!
What are their personalities like?
Congos have a well-known reputation for being the most verbose parrots, and also for being very sensitive and highly intelligent. They have the capability to mimic the human voice as well as sounds in their environment. They are also known to be relatively quiet birds. Congos like to be the master of the household and tend to be a one-person bird, merely "tolerating" the remaining members of the family. This behavior can be prevented if corrected at an early age, and behavioral training and socialization are continued throughout the bird’s lifetime. Your parrot's temperament has a lot to do with how you raise them after they are weaned. You should encourage others to handle them. Consistency is paramount. Their life span is between 60 – 80 years in captivity, and to make your life with them more enjoyable, it is critical to train them when they’re young. Their devotion to a good owner is unshakable.
Are there any special considerations to be made?
No small unsupervised children with this bird.
